Medical Definition of Choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase

An enzyme that catalyses the transfer of cytidylate (CMP) to choline phosphate to form CDPcholine. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the choline pathway for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine. Its activity is increased by glucocorticoids.
