Medical Definition of Schmidt diet
1. An obsolete diet designed to facilitate examination of the stools in patients with diarrhoea, consisting of milk, zwieback, oatmeal gruel, eggs, butter, small amounts of beef and potato. Synonym: Schmidt diet. (05 Mar 2000)
