Medical Definition of Thymidine triphosphate

1. A molecule which consists of the nitrogenous base thymine linked to the sugar ribose and which has a chain of three phosphate groups attached to the ribose in a linear fashion. TTP is required for DNA and RNA synthesis since it is a direct precursor molecule. (09 Oct 1997)
