Medical Definition of Mitogenesis

| The process of stimulating transit through the cell cycle especially as applied to lymphocytes. Concanavalin A is a mitogen for T lymphocytes, the best mitogen for B lymphocytes is Cowan strain Stapylococcus aureus.
