Medical Definition of Malarial pigment

1. A dark brown, granular pigment which rotates the plane of polarised light and has other properties similar to formalin pigment; occurs in parasites, such as Plasmodium malariae, around brain capillaries, and in fixed macrophages of spleen, liver, bone marrow, and lymph nodes.
