1. Arises from the posterior cord of the brachial plexus; it contains fibres from the sixth, seventh, and eighth cervical nerves and supplies the latissimus dorsi muscle. Synonym: nervus thoracodorsalis, long subscapular nerve. (05 Mar 2000)
