Medical Definition of Immunodiagnostic
1. A medical diagnostic based on the highly specific interaction between an antibody and an antigen. The antibody is used to detect the presence of the antigen. Monoclonal antibodies have come to be used in over 20 percent of all medical diagnostic procedures. (14 Nov 1997)
