Medical Definition of Hypoaldosteronism

Aldosterone deficiency, usually associated with hypoadrenalism, and characterised by hypotension, dehydration, and a tendency to excrete excessive amounts of sodium.
A selective aldosterone deficiency resulting from low renin production is called hyporeninaemic hypoaldosteronism.
