Medical Definition of Guanylyl imidodiphosphate

5'-guanylic acid, monoanhydride with imidophosphoric acid. An analog of GTP, in which the oxygen atom bridging the beta to the gamma phosphate is replaced by a nitrogen atom. The nucleotide is a potent stimulator of adenylate cyclase.
Synonym: GMP-p(nh)p; gpp(nh)p.
