Medical Definition of Cardiopulmonary obstructive shock

This term describes a number of conditions that involve a severe disturbance of the cardiopulmonary circuit resulting in shock (inadequate delivery of oxygen to the tissues).
Examples include: pulmonary embolism, pericardial tamponade, pneumothorax and constrictive pericarditis.
