Medical Definition of Cardiopulmonary murmur

An innocent extracardiac murmur, synchronous with the heart's beat but disappearing when the breath is held, believed due to movement of air in a segment of lung compressed by the contracting heart.
Synonym: cardiorespiratory murmur.
