Medical Definition of Tyrode's solution

1. A modified Locke's solution; it contains 8 g of NaCl, 0.2 g of KCl, 0.2 g of CaCl2, 0.1 g of MgCl2, 0.05 g of NaH2PO4, 1 g of NaHCO3, 1 g of d-glucose, and water to make 1000 ml; used to irrigate the peritoneal cavity, and in laboratory work. (05 Mar 2000)
