Medical Definition of Sipple's syndrome

1. This is a hereditary disorder in which two or more of the following glands: thyroid, adrenal or parathyroid, develop overgrowth (hyperplasia) or malignant cells (cancer). The underlying cause is genetic and a positive family history for this illness is a risk factor. Incidence: approximately 3 in 100,000 people in the general population. (27 Sep 1997)
