Medical Definition of Lineweaver Burke plot

1. A plot of 1/v against 1/S for an enzyme catalysed reaction, where v is the initial rate and s the substrate concentration. From the equation: 1/v = 1/Vmax(1+Km/S) the parameters Vmax and Km can be determined. The equation overweights the contribution of the least accurate points and other methods of analysis are preferred. See: Eadie Hofstee plot.
