Medical Definition of Landzert's fossa

1. A fossa formed by two peritoneal folds, enclosing the left colic artery and the inferior mesenteric vein, respectively, at the side of the duodenum; it is smaller than the paraduodenal recess which is sometimes found in the same region. (05 Mar 2000)
