1. A disease occurring in cattle and sheep, usually manifested by thickening of the wall of the intestine, particularly of the ileum; caused by infection with Mycobacterium paratuberculosis. Synonym: chronic dysentery of cattle, paratuberculosis. (05 Mar 2000)
