Medical Definition of Denonvilliers' ligament

1. The localised thickening of the superior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm anteriorly that anchors the prostate and neck of the bladder to the pubis on each side. It is composed of medial and lateral parts (ligaments) and usually contains smooth muscle. Synonym: ligamentum puboprostaticum, Denonvilliers' ligament. (05 Mar 2000)
