Medical Definition of Armillifer
1. A genus of Pentastomida (order Porocephalida, family Porocephalidae); adults are found in the lungs of reptiles and the young in many mammals, including man. Origin: O. Fr. Armille, fr. L. Armilla, a bracelet Armillifer armillatus, species occurring in the python, the larva or nymph being occasionally found in man. Synonym: Porocephalus armillatus. (05 Mar 2000)
