1. The upper part of the laryngeal cavity from the superior aperture to the vestibular folds, bounded anteriorly by the epiglottis, laterally by themucosa overlying the quadrangular membranes and posteriorly by the mucosa overlying the arytenoid cartilages and arytenoideus muscle.
