1. The complex of proteins associated with the translocation of nascent polypeptides into the cisternal space of the endoplasmic reticulum. The translocon is a multi functional complex involved in regulating the interaction of ribosomes with the endoplasmic reticulum as well as regulating translocation and the integration of membrane proteins in the correct orientation.
