Medical Definition of Transgelin
1.
Transformation and shape change sensitive isoform of 21 kD actin binding protein. Highly conserved (as far back as yeast), binds F actin (1:6 transgelin:G actin) and causes gelation. Similar, but not identical, to calponin.
