Medical Definition of Thrombomodulin
1.
Specific endothelial cell receptor (100 kD: luminal surface only) that forms a 1:1 complex with thrombin. This complex then converts protein C to Ca, that in turn acts on Factors Va and VIIIa. Structurally similar to coated pit receptors.
