Medical Definition of Thin filament
1. Filaments 7-9nm diameter attached to the Z discs of striated muscle, have opposite polarity in each half sarcomere. Built of F actin with associated tropomyosin and troponin. This entry appears with permission from the Dictionary of Cell and Molecular Biology (11 Mar 2008)
