A cytotoxic semisynthetic derivative of podophyllotoxin that may be effective in cancer chemotherapy. It prevents cells from entering the prophase of mitosis and inhibits DNA synthesis.
Pharmacological action: antineoplastic agent, phytogenic, nucleic acid synthesis inhibitors.
