Medical Definition of Somatostatinoma
1. A rare somatostatin-secreting tumour of pancreatic delta cells associated with diabetes mellitus or abnormal glucose tolerance. It is also found in the intestine. Of the reported primary tumours, 60% were found in the pancreas and 40% in the duodenum or jejunum. most patients were between 40 and 60 years of age with a 2:1 ratio of females to males.
