Medical Definition of Salicylsalicylic acid
1. A combination of 2 molecules of salicylic acid in ester linkage. The compound is hydrolyzed during and after absorption to salicylic acid which, like other salicylates, exerts analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Synonym: salicylsalicylic acid. (05 Mar 2000)
