Medical Definition of Reverse Eck fistula
1. Side-to-side anastomosis of the portal vein with the inferior vena cava and ligation of the latter above the anastomosis but below the hepatic veins; the blood from the lower part of the body is thus directed through the hepatic circulation. (05 Mar 2000)
