A highly infectious disease of rabbits, caused by a calicivirus and characterised by haemorrhagic lesions, particularly affecting the lungs and liver; since it was first identified in China in 1984, it has been reported from Korea, it has spread through Europe, and it has reached North Africa and Mexico.
