Medical Definition of Plica rectouterina

1. A fold of peritoneum, containing the rectouterine muscle, passing from the sacrum to the base of the broad ligament on either side, forming the lateral boundary of the rectouterine (Douglas') pouch. Synonym: plica rectouterina, Douglas' fold, Jarjavay's ligament, Petit's ligament, rectouterine fold, uterosacral ligament. (05 Mar 2000)
