1. n. A substance associated with nuclein in cell nuclei, and by some considered as the fundamental substance of the nucleus.

Medical Definition of Plastin

1. Microfilament bundling protein from mammalian cells very similar to fimbrin with two actin binding domains. Two forms, l plastin (627 residues, may be identical to acumentin) from leucocytes and t plastin (630 residues). See: p65.
