Medical Definition of Physician payment review commission
1. A commission created by the consolidated omnibus reconciliation act of 1985, enacted in 1986, and given the mandate to advise congress on medicare-physician payment. The commission members are appointed by the u.s. Office of technology assessment. (12 Dec 1998)
