Medical Definition of Pharyngeal branch of vagus nerve

Conveys motor fibres from the cranial root of the accessory nerve to the pharyngeal constrictor muscles, the intrinsic muscles of the soft palate and the levator palati muscle; may also bring some general sensory fibres to the pharyngeal plexus.
Synonym: rami pharyngei nervi vagi.
