Medical Definition of Orthopaedic surgeon
1.
A medically qualified specialist in surgery who has subspecialised in the surgery of bones.
Bone cancers are best treated by a TEAM of doctors which includes the orthopaedic surgeon, the medical and radiation oncologists, the radiologist and the pathologist. This has shown to give superior results in centres of excellence, but sadly, in many places, only fragmentary contribution is invited.
