Medical Definition of Oesophageal branches of the vagus nerve

Includes both branches passing directly from vagi and the branches from the recurrent laryngeal nerves that form the oesophageal nerve plexus which surrounds oesophagus, supplying it and adjacent portions of the pericardium.
