Medical Definition of Nonpermissive cell
1.
Originally a cell of a tissue type or species that does not permit replication of a particular virus. Early stages of the virus cycle may be possible in such a cell, that in the case of tumour viruses may become transformed. Now used in a more general sense, of agents and treatments other than viruses.
