An antineoplastic agent from a streptomyces nogalater variant. It is a cytolytic antibiotic that inhibits DNA-dependent RNA synthesis by binding to DNA and has some antibacterial action.
Pharmacological action: antibiotics, anthracycline, intercalating agents, nucleic acid synthesis inhibitors.
