Medical Definition of Neck reflexes

1. Changes in position of the head cause alterations in tone of the neck muscles through stimulation of proprioceptors in the labyrinth which bring the head into its correct position in space; stimulation of proprioceptors in the neck muscles causes in turn reflex movements of the limbs which bring the animal into the normal position in relation to the head.
