Medical Definition of Muted tidal regime

1. A fluctuation in a wetland's water level that is lower in amplitude than the fluctuation in a neighboring tidal body of water, due to levees or other artificial devices which inhibit the exchange of water between the wetland and the tidal body. (09 Oct 1997)
