Medical Definition of Misonidazole
1.
A nitroimidazole that sensitises normally radio-resistant hypoxic cells to radiation. It may also be directly cytotoxic to hypoxic cells and has been proposed as an antineoplastic.
Pharmacological action: antineoplastic agent, antiprotozoal agents, radiation-sensitizing agents.
