7-chloro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2-methyl-4-oxo-3-o-tolyl-6-quinazoline sulfonamide. A potent, long acting diuretic useful in chronic renal disease. It also tends to lower blood pressure and increase potassium loss.
Pharmacological action: antihypertensive agents, diuretics, sulfamyl.
