Medical Definition of Methyl parathion

Phosphorothioic acid, o,o-dimethyl o-(4-nitrophenyl) ester. The methyl homolog of parathion. An effective, but highly toxic, organothiophosphate insecticide and cholinesterase inhibitor.
Pharmacological action: cholinesterase inhibitor, insecticide, organothiophosphate.
