8-lysyl vasopressin. The porcine antidiuretic hormone most frequently used clinically. A cyclic nonapeptide with lysine in position 8 of the chain; it is used to treat diabetes insipidus and as haemostatic because of its vasoconstrictor action.
Pharmacological action: haemostatics, renal agents, vasoconstrictor agents.
