Medical Definition of Liquid metal
1.
Metal which has been heated past its melting point and can be used as a working fluid for pumping heat out from a powerplant. Liquid metal used as coolant in a system where significant magnetic fields exist, it behaves differently due to magnetohydrodynamic effects, these cause pressure which resists fluid circulation, suppression of turbulence, and altered flow patterns compared to non-magnetic liquid metal systems.
