1. A cycloheptathiophene that interferes with the release of inflammatory mediators and blocks histamine h1 receptors. It has been proposed as an anti-asthmatic and for the treatment of rhinitis, skin allergies, and anaphylaxis.
Pharmacological action: anti-allergic agents, antipruritics, histamine h1 antagonists.
