Medical Definition of Internal saphenous nerve

A branch of the femoral, extending from the femoral triangle to the foot, becoming subcutaneous on the medial side of the knee; it supplies cutaneous branches to the skin of the leg and foot, by way of infrapatellar and medial crural branches.
Synonym: nervus saphenus, internal saphenous nerve, long saphenous nerve.
