Medical Definition of Haemorrhagic disease of deer
1. A haemorrhagic disease of certain deer of the central and eastern United States, caused by an orbivirus, a member of the Reoviridae, and characterised by multiple haemorrhages, shock, and trauma; infection is thought to be arthropod-borne. Synonym: haemorrhagic disease of deer. (05 Mar 2000)
