Medical Definition of Haemodiafiltration

1. The combination of haemodialysis and haemofiltration either simultaneously or sequentially. Convective transport (haemofiltration) may be better for removal of larger molecular weight substances and diffusive transport (haemodialysis) for smaller molecular weight solutes. (12 Dec 1998)
