Medical Definition of Filamin
1.
A protein that binds to F actin, cross linking it to form an isotropic network, the binding does not require Ca. It was originally isolated from smooth muscle and is a homodimer 2 x 250 kD. Similar to actin binding protein (ABP) from leucocytes.
