Medical Definition of Fibrocystic disease

1. A noncancerous breast condition in which multiple cysts or lumpy areas develop in one or both breasts. It can be accompanied by discomfort or pain that fluctuates with the menstrual cycle. May be exacerbated by caffeine use. Large cysts can be treated by aspiration of the fluid they contain. (04 Nov 1997)
