1. Inflammation of the ethmoid sinuses that may occur secondary to an allergy or an infection by a virus or bacteria. Symptoms include runny nose, congestion and pain between the eyes. Antibiotics are necessary treatment in cases of bacterial infection. (27 Sep 1997)
